FIFA rejected appeals by the sanction applied to Luis Suárez, suspended by 9 official matches with your selection and all activity related to football for four months for biting an opponent, was reported Thursday by the institution.

"The FIFA Appeal Committee has decided to reject the appeals submitted by the Uruguayan player Luis Suárez and the Uruguayan Football Association and confirm the decision taken by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee on June 25, 2014, in its entirety," it said in a statement.

The governing body of soccer said Suárez and the Uruguayan Federation were notified of the rejection of the appeals.

The Uruguayan forward, 27 years old, was severely sanctioned by having bitten the Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini during the last match played by Uruguay in the group stage.

The Celeste was subsequently eliminated by Colombia in the second round of the World Cup of Brazil 2014.

The scorer of Liverpool must pay in addition a fine equivalent to 112,000 dollars.
